W.F. Stockford Casting Reel South Bend IND. Circa-1910

$775.00

W.F. Stockford Casting Reel South Bend IND. Circa-1910. Stockford Reel Co reels were only made for a few years. William F. Stockford received a patent for his “Open Spool” fishing reel on November 15, 1910. The patented Stockford reel has no cross member between the top end plates which allows easier access to the fishing line for casting and backlash removal. This early patent applied model has the top post in place and perhaps was fisherman altered or done as a demo during design and patent process. It looks professionally done with all screws and pillars matching. Reel spins amazing, extremely fast, and very smooth with a strong working clicker. Fantastic early reel regardless and never seen for sale.
