Vintage GERMAN SILVER Very clean Early Julius Vom Hofe B-OCEAN REEL- Second version of this reel with the B-OCEAN LOGO Stamped in hard rubber face. Extremely low serial number of #166 - Auxiliary leather thumb drag, Early hard rubber straight knob is original to this older version along with the retaining nut with locking device. All of the operations on this fine reel function as intended. This reel also sports the first early version of the star drag with fish fighting adjustments while fighting a fish as designed by the early Julius Vom Hofe patent. The freespool on the front side plate rim works perfect and the drag and clicker function on rear plate and rim function as intended. Amazing Reel. The B-Ocean stamp is worn but please see upclose photos for the hard rubber stamp. The hard rubber is very clean with no scratches or cracks.
