Early South Bend 1131 Anti-Backlash German Silver Jeweled Serial # 3565 with Original Leather case Circa-1912. This is a very clean fine example of the First Model 1131 Made by Shakespeare for South Bend and is a collectors Classic . The reel spins extremely fast and smooth. The clicker is strong and loud and the ABL functions as intended. The spectacular Jeweled bearing caps are removable and Knurled (NOTE: The Jewels looked cracked in the pictures, They are in perfect condition and it must be a optical illusion). The counter balanced Handle is in great condition with a free spinning grip. The foot is clean and not manicured showing both South Bend Patents with the very low serial number of 3565. Please notice as with all early models the reel does not show the 1131 model on the reel. The leather case shows some shelf wear but functions perfectly with a good snap.
