Shakespeare 1740 Tournament Distance Casting Reel (Modified) Circa-1934. This is a Modified as a National Tournament Championship Reel. Reel is strickly for casting and not meant to be fished. This Reel has been hollowed out of all extra weight and parts not needed and replaced with aluminum and titanium making this reel as light as any reel this size you will hold. This comes with a titanium light weight bobbin threaded with pure silk line and custom built spool to house it. There are no buttons or clickers . Tension control is strickly built into the custom rear bearing cover and the skill of the caster. The Aluminum handle is also a custom small tournament double grip. The freespool control is typical of all shakespeare 1740 & 1744 reels located and operated using the handle. Foot is clean and not manicured. Reel spins amazingly fast and smooth.
