The internal picture as seen in photo’s of this incredible historical reel tell the story of the this prototype made by Rudolph Wenzel that would later become the Pflueger Medalist adjustable drag and the dual click in 1938. Rudolph Wenzel was a San Francisco jeweler and a tournament caster at the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club Also in San Francisco. This reel as seen was made by Rudolph Wentzel in the early 1930s and went on to win 2 national casting championships. In 1936 This patent for adjustable drag & dual click (2,059,763) as seen in pictures was sold to and then assigned to Pfueger & Enterprise Mfg. Co. Lets just say the rest is Medalist and fly fishing history. Great Historical reel.
