R.G. Wentzel Pflueger Medalist Prototypes for Adjustable Drag & Dual Click Circa-1930. The internal pictures as seen in photo’s of these incredible historical reels tell the story of the these two prototypes made by Rudolph Wentzel that would later become the Pflueger Medalist adjustable drag and the dual click in 1938. Rudolph Wentzel was a San Francisco Jeweler and a tournament caster at the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club Also in San Francisco. These two reels as seen were made by Rudolph Wentzel in the early 1930s and went on to win 2 national casting championships. In 1936 These patents for adjustable drag & dual click (2,059,763 & 2,059,765) as seen in pictures were sold to and then assigned to Pfueger & Enterprise Mfg. Co. Lets just say the rest is Medalist and fly fishing history. Both reels function perfectly and you can see Medalist features in both incredible reels. Great Historical reels.
