Pflueger "FRANKFURTH’S SPECIAL" Trade Reel For Frankfurth’s Hardware Milwaukee Wi. Circa-1904. Frankfurth’s Hardware (Wm. F, HDW. Co.) opened in 1862 and was a staple in Milwaukee for over 100 years until it closed its doors in 1979, At one period in the 1920s it was considered the largest Hardware Store in the Midwest. This is a very very tough reel considered the holy grail by most collectors and virtually impossible to find in this condition. This reel is very clean, very smooth, and its fast spinning with a strong clicker and brake. The fine german silver has a brilliant satin finish and is clean showing limited wear. Please see the back plate as this is a early presentation reel with H.J. Hanson beautifully engraved on the top of the back plate.
