Rare Meisselbach-Catucci SYMPLOREEL No. #255 Anti-Backlash Circa-1924. This is a very fine example of this smooth , Fast and extremely clean Meisselbach/Catucci Reel. Clicker is strong and loud. Double Grip Handle is clean and straight with free spinning grips. The reels foot is in great condition on top, however the underside of one side shows a shave I guess to fit a fishermans rod but does not affect the foot in any way. The South Bend Patent ( 1907 by Henry Baumgartel) ABL or Anti Backlash device functions perfectly. This reel as most of these early Meisselbach reels carry the patent pending stamp. The yardage is 100.
