Frederick Malleson Raised Pillar Kentucky style Casting Reel 60 yard Circa-1883. Extremely fine early Kentucky style Raised Pillar gem of a reel that comes from one of New York’s greatest makers. Like a majority of his reels this reel comes in very fine Nickel over Brass and this finish has held up nicely for 140 years. Malleson rarely put his name on a reel, however the Handle counter balanced weight, Handle screw knurling, clicker & brake buttons, along with the rear bearing cover tells you easily that this is a Malleson example. Reel spins amazing, fast, smooth, and straight. Front plate or Kentucky style face holds spectacular buttons that both slide easily on command and both functions work perfectly. Extremely rare Fantastic and Historic reel never seen.
