Julius Vom Hofe Fly Reel Patent Oct. 8, 1889 2 1/2” Size 3 German Silver & Hard Rubber Circa-1891. This very fine Fly Reel is stamped Julius Vom Hofe PAT Oct 8' 89 on the Back Plate. The foot is untouched and is stamped with the number 3. It measures 1 inches from inside pillar to pillar and the diameter of the side plate is 2 1/2 inches. The German silver is flawless and the ebonite side plates are in terrific condition with no cracks, chips or damage. Mechanically it functions flawlessly spinning extremely smooth and with a strong working clicker. Also Aesthetically it is a jewel. Very Very Fine REEL.
