Julius Vom Hofe V L & A Chicago Trade Fly Reel Patent Oct. 8, 1889 2 1/2 Size 3 German Silver & Hard Rubber Circa-1891. This very fine Fly Reel is stamped Julius Vom Hofe PAT Oct 8' 89 along with V. L. & A. Chicago on the face. The foot is untouched and is stamped with the number 3. It measures 1 inches from inside pillar to pillar and the diameter of the side plate is 2 1/2 inches. The German silver is flawless and the ebonite side plates are in terrific condition with no cracks, chips or damage. Mechanically it functions flawlessly spinning extremely smooth and with a strong working clicker. Also Aesthetically it is a jewel. Very Very Fine REEL.
