Meek Horton Mfg. Co. No. 30 German Silver Level Wind with Original Rare Box Circa- 1930

Vintage extremely nice very clean Meek No. 30 German Silver Level Winding Fishing and casting Reel with the extremely rare original box made starting in 1930 by Horton Mfg Co. Horton bought the rights to all Meek products and properties in 1916-17 and continued the long years of the Meek and Sons name with there own Meek line of reels. This reel is fast and smooth with a strong clicker and a great working ABL brake drag mounted and trimmed nicely on the face. The reel face rim is clean and has a triple rope knurl trim. The bearing covers, bread basket under the handle and handle knob screw have matching knurl. The foot is clean, not manicured, and straight with the early serial number of 1543 underneath. The handle is clean, straight, with double counter balanced free spinning grips. This reel is a great example of a fine level wind reel made by Horton Manufacturing. The extremely rare silver grey box is original to this reel showing a faint number 30 as seen in last photo. The box is in pretty good condition showing some storage wear with a nice label and puts this fine reel away perfectly.
