SUPER RARE C. FARLOW (191 Strand, London) BRASS SINGLE ACTION REEL. (APPROX 2 in) Circa - 1871. This is not the typical Farlow platewind Fly Reel but the tougher raised rear checkplate style reel seldom seen from this maker. No attempt was made to clean this Spectacular old timer. Smooth reeling, strong clicking in both directions, very clean, and elegant reel. Its in top shape and shows well. The face plate looks incredible with the typical Farlow engraved trademark surrounding a elegant working crank with a simple handle grip that spins freely and shows well . Raised back plate also shows beautiful with a fixed bearing cover thats simple but smart. The foot is in perfect condition. Incredible Brillant early English classic.
