Early Brass Single Action S-Handle Reel Circa-1870-80. This is a very very fine example of a Fine Brass single action reel. Reel turns extremely smooth with no wobble or play. All Parts including fantastic S- Handle , real wood knob, screws including screw heads, and foot are in fantastic condition. Under the foot please see the yardage of 60 yards. I have no proof of the Maker of this fine reel. I can say this however, this beautiful reel handle where you would normally see a counter balance weight is flat and this was seen on reels designed by L.A. Kiefer who made reels between 1848-1886 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Reel has the early slide stop latch next to top pillar that can be slid across to stop handle from turning and then returned to free it up. Very fine Reel and would be a centerpiece for any collection.
