EXTREMELY RARE Blue Grass Reel Works No. 33 Early Patent Pending Circa -1899-1901. This is the early pre-Carter Patent 33 made during the Meek & Milam lawsuit era. Meek could not make reels under the Meek name during this period and chose to make reels using the Blue Grass Reel Works name. Its extremely clean, fast, and smooth with a strong clicker. Please pay attention to the the early knurling on the head and tail plate rims as it is completely different than the later patented 33s. This reel is only one of a very limited amount of reels made under the Blue Grass Reel works name in just a couple of year period and carries the really really early serial # 116. After 1901 Meek and Milam settled the suit and Meek again resumed making Reels Under the Meek name. A Classic collecters Reel.
